New World Press (NWP) is a multilingual publisher established in 1951. It is affiliated with the China International Publishing Group. Books introducing contemporary China, such as the “Why and How the CPC Works in China” and “Keywords to Understand China” multilingual series, have won many national awards and high recognition of readers including translators and scholars.
Books in various languages, such as The Formation of Chinese Civilization and The Ancient Chinese Architecture co-published by NWP and Yale University Press, Zhao Qizheng’s Riverside Talks: a Friendly Dialogue Between an Atheist and a Christian, Wang Meng’s This Here Paradise, and Ji Xianlin’s Notes During Hospital Stay, are among China’s high-level publications, and attract a wide readership around the world.
NWP is experienced in copyright business and has established close cooperation with many international publishing agencies. It has opened about 20 China Book Editorial Departments in Egypt, India, Poland, South Korea, Turkey, the UK and the US, and published over 100 books about China overseas, thereby enhancing the influence of Chinese culture globally.
